[On Armin's side of things, it wasn't too hard to spot what Jean was trying to do for him. If they had simply hung out a lot and left it at that, it would be one thing. But the questions and constantly checking up to see if he had advanced in his field in any way thanks to him...

I spoke to a couple of people. [A vague answer, but one he hopes will satisfy Jean enough to keep the mood up. Truth be told, he'd rather not rely on Jean's connections to get anywhere with his field. He understood that it was a large part of the world these days, but it was something he was striving to work against. He wanted to become known for who he was and what he could do and nothing else.

But it was touching that Jean seemed to think of him so much. He couldn't just shut that down. Not when he enjoyed the actual events themselves.]
