days into night;

Remember when the world was green? Most inhabitants of ___ don't. For hundreds of years the world has been largely unsuitable for human civilization; a huge desert spans the entirety of the world's surface thanks to a spat between the sun god and his sister, the goddess of the night. The fight ended with the sun god victorious and in his triumph he ripped his sister, Nocta, in half and exiled her to the surface which he blanched with heat. Forests, rivers, oceans and lakes dried up and crumbled into the fresh desert sands and the world was rid of night forever.

Now, where there once was one unified civilization, there are two divided by religious beliefs. The main city, Oramos, is the main hub of life unified under the sun god's strength and guidance while the other, Renacht, is a city of exiles desperately hoping for the night goddess' return. Though currently in a recent era of peace, the two feud constantly, each fighting for the other's resources in a world where they're not easy to come by.

Amidst it all, a rumor lingers. A rumor that the people of Oramos dismiss with incredulity and the people of Renacht look to for hope. Something that's stemmed from small hints in ancient texts suggesting that, maybe, somewhere, Nocta still survives.

The night could return.

The truth is, the True Gods of ______ died out long ago. Thought to be "old demons" in the world today, the True Gods consisted of two tiers: the First God and the God Children, from which the Second God came out.

First God:
The First God is essentially the earth of [world name here]. Resembling something like a giant alligator, it sat in a void sleeping. It didn't really do anything besides that. When the Second God murdered it, its body fossilized and became the land of [world name here]. This essentially means that the world of [world name here] is actually flat, or at least only as thick as the First God's body.

God Children:
The God Children were not actually children but parasites that infected the insides of the First God. They fed off the First God's strength, eventually evolving into larger creatures capable of immense power. Inside the First God's body they fought and struggled to escape, though only one managed to.

Second God:
The Second God was one of the God Children that inhabited the brain of the First God. It resembled a shrew with six snakes on its back. It was also very fat. When it gained enough power it burrowed out of the First God's skull, killing it immediately. It then proceeded to lug its fat body around the surface of the First God's corpse, shedding its snakes (which would slither off to become natural elements such as the sun, moon, mountains, rivers and forests) in order to make moving easier. It didn't really work and the Second God continued to drag itself around the world and in its tracks new parasites grew. These parasites would evolve and become the real demons in the world.
