I'm not going to leave you behind.
[It's a firm response almost immediately as Armin shifts in Jean's grip. It's likely painful for the both of them in this close space, skin rubbing against skin as he slips down. His hands move to Jean's wrists to guide them away so he can properly slip down into the space in front of him.
It's not nearly as cramped for him as it is for Jean, but they're still pressed uncomfortably close, with his face right to the damage Jean has sustained.]
Can you reach behind me to my pack? There are some bandages in there.

omg you put it under a cut way to intrigue brenda
What the hell are you thinki–[Oh. That's what. With a beleaguered sigh and a poignant look, he follows Armin's instructions. It makes him wince and seethe, but he manages to get some out, handing them to Armin without looking because he... can't. He's stuck. For real. Body curved over Armin's head, practically shoving his face against his chest.] ... Sorry.
IT CAN'T BE AVOIDED OKAY
His mind was still trying to figure out a way to get out from not only this hall, but the pyramid himself. Still he can't help but think back. It was his fault for wanting to come here to begin with. But what if there were answers further in? Clues?]
Try to relax as best as you can. [Instead of responding to the apology that he thinks is unwarranted, he says this, shifting to carefully wrap the bandages around Jean's wounds. It's hard, already being so close, and the motions grant more brushes against skin than he would have liked. It was really kind of like they were stuck in an embrace, here...]
I'N TYPING THIS FROM MY PHONE
[Jean's flat tone makes up for the fact that his exasperated expression goes missed, aimed at the only thing he can see-Armin's back.]
I'm stuck between two walls.
[Any relaxation he has is forced. Still, he tries anyway. His body is still tense. If anything, it's worse.
After a couple minutes of pained grunts, he speaks up again, voice rough but well-meaning.] How's your leg?
GOOD JOB GREER
[A quiet response to the first part. He can imagine Jean's scary expression just fine without the visual aid, honestly, and he does realize it's a frustrating thing to hear while jammed in a small space like this.
He finishes up bandaging Jean, grateful for their position if only that it can hide his struggling expression.]
It's fine. [That's a lie and it shows in his tone just as much as his expression, but there's a certain level of determination to it, as well. He can't wrap it like this... Instead, a free hand curls idly into what little cloth remains of Jean's shirt.
He keeps thinking this is his fault, that he should be able to think of a way out of there, but nothing is coming. ...Though he guesses Jean didn't have to wedge himself in here like this, either. But they were running... (Thinking isn't helping, you see.)]
What do we do now?
PROUD OF MYSELF tries to write this one through really loud movies playing
[It's said as lighthearted as he can manage but his back is cramping and Armin is so clearly lying that it stiffens his posture in worry. There has to be a way out, even if it's painful. Biting his lip, he attempts to move, pulling himself up. Skin scrapes against stone and leaves parts behind. Gradually, he moves–with pained groans and sucked in air until finally, he's free.]
Got it. [A beat. His arms are burning with fresh scrapes that drip blood down his arms.] –Shit.
YEAHHH DEFEAT THOSE MOVIES
[It's a concerned calling of his name at the realization, and while it is relieving to step out and have a bit of room to himself, the blood is worrying. He steps closer yet again, hands moving to wrap those scrapes as well. Just enough to get them by.]
You're losing too much blood. We should--
[Of course, one of his steps forward on that weaker leg gets a clumsy stumble and he nearly crashes into Jean, instead reaching for the wall behind him and propping himself up that way. But then that stone sinks in, and Armin's balance is tested again as the entire room rumbles and a new pathway to light is slowly revealed.]
defeats them
What the–?
[It's not what he expected to see–a tunnel opening up before them. He stares at it blankly for a few long seconds before turning to Armin with relieved disbelief.] I can't believe it! You're a genius, Armin!
[Excitement seizes over him and he grasps Armin's shoulders tight and
kisses him. On the mouth. Out of nowhere.
Whatever, he'll think about it later. For now, he's scooping Armin up with another wince and charging down the hallway.]
no subject
He's just as excited as Jean, honestly, beaming up at him. But what he doesn't expect is exactly what happens. A kiss that's met with him freezing in shock before heat rises to his face, and then his feet being swept out right from under himself.]
J-jean?!
[His arms wrap around Jean's neck instinctively so he doesn't fall out of the grip, but his face is still hot, and soon enough he's so confused and caught off guard that he has to lower a hand to tug down on his shirt a bit, trying to make it longer than it really is.
Was that...-- Why--?? He honestly has no idea, and all he can think to add is a warning about exerting so much pressure so soon after being injured.] Be careful!
no subject
Granted, it would have been great if it had led them back to the city instead of the desert, but he'll take that too, squinting at the sun as they exit the corridor without injury. With a thunk, a stone slab closes it behind them. Jean doesn't waste time to turn around, instead making his way over to a nearby ruin and gently setting Armin down on it.]
About time.
[Plucking that roll of bandages from Armin's hands before he has time to protest.]
We need to wrap your leg up.
[Don't protest, he's already getting down to one knee.]
no subject
But he's not the type to just be able to forget what just happened and move on. That was a kiss. A kiss... Why? Excitement was one thing, but you don't just kiss anyone when you're excited. There has to be reason for it. All that comes to mind is the amount of times Jean went out of his way to help him out back there...
Could it be...?
He's still thinking, so he keeps quiet about it for now. But he does raise a hand to his own lips to touch softly while he's thinking. That was his first kiss...]
Jean, are you feeling dizzy at all? [He drops that hand from his mouth, watching him.] Light-headed or faint?
no subject
We should clean and rewrap this the first chance we get.
[Or just find new bandages. That seemed like the best option, but also the most far-off. Cupping a hand over his eyes, he surveys the rest of the desert. Not even a hint of civilization. He sighs.] Who knows when we'll see water.
[Another problem that he didn't want to face yet. He focuses on wrapping the wound, tying it off with a quick flourish.]
no subject
For now we can try to find the area that caved in from above. The ceiling is pretty high...
no subject
[Stopping, my ass. The moment Armin turns to leave is the same one in which Jean grabs his wrist, grip firm and eyes determined.]
We're not doing any more before the rest of you is wrapped up.
[Tugging on Armin's arm and awkwardly pulling at his torn shirt with a free hand.]
no subject
[It's not like he can resist the tug or grip, and so all he can do is stare as Jean pulls at the shirt that's already been through so much.]
I haven't lost nearly as much blood as you have! If you're feeling dizzy and... [HALLUCINATING??? He is not sure, but he pauses.] We should keep moving.

HIJACKING THIS POST sorry greer

But now... well. It's not like they had anything better to do. And as headstrong and restless as Eren could be, he had a near-infinite amount of patience for Armin. Listening to him talk and conjecture about pyramids calmed him, reminded him of better times, and despite his reservations he can't find himself disagreeing with Armin's theories or plans. He never did.
So Eren treads onward towards the odd structures with a short nod. ]
...All right. If you think it's a good idea.
no subject
[He clarifies this immediately, eyes focused on the closest pyramid they were heading towards.] But it may be a chance at finding out more information on this world and the organization that brought us here. It's a slim chance, and it could very well be a trap, so we'll have to be careful.
[He's sure Eren knows that already, as he glances over to him. Eren was always the one who held the determination to face these things. It wasn't until recently that Armin had the courage to face things himself. To strive for his dreams more openly.]
no subject
Hah— I'm always careful.
[ It's said with mock haughtiness, a small grin tugging his lips apart. So long as they stuck together, he'd make sure Armin made it out okay, so there's no harm in a little reckless courage. And while he's scared for his friend, it's kind of nice that he has a partner in crime for it this time.
Getting over to the pyramids is easy enough, even if the sand sucks in their feet a few times and there's the occasional gust of sand and dust; Eren pulls his hood over his face and looks over the entrance to one of the larger pyramids, tugging his sword free with his other hand. ] You ready?
no subject
Both hands raise to pull his own hood over his head, though, and he gives a firm nod.]
I'm ready. [Then a glance back to the pyramid. With that said, he'll follow Eren as soon as he steps off to enter the thing. As always, his thoughts have him quiet, but once they do get inside, his friend may be able to notice the way he's observing the smoothness of the walls or any unique bits of architecture along the way.]
